Health and safety information is collected specifically to support on-set safety requirements and emergency response. You may choose whether to share this information with projects you join via your privacy settings.

• Safety & emergency response — Storing health and emergency contact information for on-set safety compliance.

• Contract performance — Processing necessary to provide the Service you signed up for, including profile creation, project matching, messaging, and availability tracking.

6. How Long We Keep Your Data

We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected:

• Account data — Retained for the duration of your account and up to 30 days after deletion to allow for recovery.
• Project data — Retained for the duration of active project membership and 90 days after project completion for record-keeping.
• Messages — Retained for the lifetime of the conversation and up to 1 year after the last activity.
• Health & safety data — Retained only while you are an active member of a project requiring such data, and deleted within 30 days of leaving or project completion.
• Analytics & logs — Anonymized or deleted within 12 months of collection.

Where consent is the legal basis, data is retained until consent is withdrawn. Where a legal obligation requires longer retention, we comply with applicable law.

We do not sell your personal data. We share your information only in the following circumstances:

• Project members — When you join a project, certain profile information (name, role, contact details, and health data if you opt in) is shared with other members of that project for collaboration purposes.
• Service providers — We use trusted third-party providers for hosting, email delivery, and analytics, who process data only under our instructions and are bound by data processing agreements.
• Legal requirements — We may disclose data when required by law, regulation, or legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of ReelCrews, our users, or the public.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Right of access — You can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you. You can download your data at any time from your account settings, or contact us for a full export.
• Right to rectification — You can request correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal data by editing your profile or contacting us.
• Right to erasure (deletion) — You can request deletion of your personal data at any time. To do so:
  1. Go to Settings → Your Data → Download My Data to export a copy of your data first (recommended)
  2. Go to Settings → Delete Account and follow the confirmation steps
  3. Your account and personal data will be anonymized and deleted within 30 days
  4. Messages you sent to other users will be replaced with “[Message deleted]” and ratings made anonymous

• Right to data portability— You can request your data in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format (JSON). Use the “Download My Data” feature in Settings, or contact us.
• Right to object — You can object to processing based on legitimate interest or for direct marketing purposes.
• Right to restriction — You can request that we restrict the processing of your data in certain circumstances.
• Right to withdraw consent — Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out prior to withdrawal.

Under CCPA, California residents also have the right to know what personal information is collected, to request deletion, to opt out of the sale of personal information (we do not sell your data), and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.

If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected personal data from a child under 16 without parental consent, we will take steps to delete it promptly.
